Beckham discussed the level of football on display. He said: ‘The level of football [at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar] Has been unbelievable.
‘I was always in favor of playing the World Cup in the middle of the season because I knew the players would be fresh and the fitness and energy levels would be high.’

He added: ‘Kilian Embappé’s had a fantastic tournament – whenever he puts the ball at his feet, you can feel the energy in the stadium lift.
‘And Lionel Messi – what can you say? He is a special person on and off the field. It is a different feeling to see him playing in this World Cup. He’s got great teammates but he’s been a leader – and you could feel it in every single game. It is special to see.
